〈Kamuy Mosir〉は、2020年の新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行によって、社会とのつながりが突然断ち切られた経験から生まれた作品だ。人に会うことがままならない深い孤独の中で自然や動物は、遠藤文香を外の世界へと開いてくれる存在だった。
「カメラを覗くと、周囲の音や時間感覚さえ忘れ、目の前の存在だけに意識が向かう」と遠藤が言うように、写真に映る現実の風景は時空を飛び越え、どこか神秘的かつ幻想的な気配が立ち上がる。彼女にとって写真を撮ることは、被写体の記録ではなく、世界と出会い直す行為なのだ。撮影を続ける中で見えてきたのは、私たちが「自然」と呼ぶものの多くが、人間の営みとは切っても切り離せないことだったという。手入れされた山や森林、家畜動物、人工の光──自然と人為、自己と他者の間を往復するように、遠藤は被写体と向き合い、写真を撮り続ける。
人々は昔から自然や動物に畏れを抱き、祈りを捧げ、救いを見出してきた。その感覚は手つかずの自然に対してしか生まれないのか。遠藤は自然や動物を「作られた光」で照らし出すことで、現代の風景の中にもなお祈りや救いは宿りうるのか、と静かに問いを投げかける。私たちは今でも、雄大な自然を前にすると、世界との繋がりを感じることがある。それは、本来ひと続きである世界と再び出会う入口なのかもしれない。
Kamuy Mosir emerged from the rupture of connection during the 2020 pandemic, when nature and animals became the only presences that opened the world to Endo again. Looking through the camera, she enters a state where sound and temporal awareness fall away. The images, though grounded in reality, carry a subtle, visionary atmosphere that loosens ordinary temporal boundaries.
As she continued photographing, she saw that much of what we call nature is shaped by human intervention—managed forests, tended mountains, domesticated animals, artificial light. Moving between nature and artifice, self and other, she approaches each subject as an equivalent presence within a shared continuum.
Illuminating animals and landscapes with constructed light, she asks whether awe or solace can still emerge within contemporary environments. The work suggests that the sense of connection felt before vast nature may offer an entry point for experiencing a divided world as continuous once more.

遠藤 文香｜えんどう あやか
1994年生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科デザイン専攻修士課程修了。主に光、動物、自然を対象とし、それらと人間との間に古くから培われてきた感覚に関心を寄せながら、祈りや霊性、森羅万象と個との関係をテーマに制作を行う。主な個展に、「when I see you, you are luminous」（Tokyo International Gallery、2023年）、「 Ayaka Endo-Kanoko」（Poetic Scape、2026年）など。主な出版物に『Pneuma』（roshinbooks、2026年）、『Ayaka Endo: Kanoko』（bookshop M、2026年）がある。
Born in 1994, Endo holds an M.A. in Design from Tokyo University of the Arts. Her practice examines light, animals, and nature through themes of spirituality, prayer, and the shifting relationship between the individual and the natural world. Selected exhibitions include when I see you, you are luminous (Tokyo International Gallery, 2023) and Ayaka Endo–Kanoko (Poetic Scape, 2026). Publications include Pneuma (roshinbooks, 2026) and Ayaka Endo: Kanoko (bookshop M, 2026).
