作品解説
大野真人は日常のあらゆる場所を実験場とし、色も形も多様な生物と人工物を組み合わせながら写真を制作する。しかし生き物は、写真家の思いどおりに止まってはくれない。予測不能に動く生命は単なる「素材」ではなくなり、人工物と強引に並べられることで、それぞれの「自然」が分断されていく。「いったい何を写した写真なのか」という意味は揺さぶられ、「不」自然な場に置かれた生命は、その存在をいっそう鮮やかに際立たせるのだ。
シリーズ名〈SEPARATE HIDDEN RULES〉は、すべての生物に組み込まれた遺伝子という「隠されたプログラム」への驚きから始まった。現代におけるインターネットでの生物売買に着目し、実際に購入や飼育、観察を重ねる中で気づいた習性や造形を生かして撮影されている。
もう一つのシリーズ〈Karyolysis〉は、細胞核が溶け、やがて見えなくなっていく生物学的な過程を指す。生命という現象は流動的であり、最後はみな消失へと向かう。生きているもの、生きていたもの、やがて朽ちていくもの。異なる時間を生きるそれぞれの生命が、写真の中でその変化の過程を一瞬だけ像として留め、生と死、生物と人工物の境界を少しずつ溶かしていく。
Oono treats everyday spaces as experimental sites, bringing together living organisms and artificial objects. Yet living beings never remain still; their unpredictable movements resist becoming mere materials. Set beside opaque objects, each organism’s “nature” is disrupted, unsettling even what the photograph depicts. In such unnatural settings, life appears sharper, almost insistently present.
SEPARATE HIDDEN RULES arises from recognizing that every organism follows its own concealed genetic program. Observing the online trade of living creatures, Oono purchases, raises, and studies them, letting the habits and forms revealed through these encounters shape the work and foreground the invisible logics guiding each being.
Karyolysis refers to the dissolution of the cell nucleus. Life is fluid, always moving toward disappearance. What is alive now, once alive, or already decaying briefly holds its shifting state within the photograph, dissolving boundaries between life and matter and inviting a reconsideration of what we call “the living.”

1979年、千葉県生まれ。東京を拠点に自費での写真集出版や、海外での制作・展示を行う。生物の飼育と観察から生まれた作品〈SEPARATE HIDDEN RULES〉で2016年JAPAN PHOTO AWARDを受賞。2019年、2020年に上海発のクリエイティブスタジオ『SAMEPAPER』が発行する写真集に参加。〈Contrast A〉では2023年にPhest LEICA PRIZE 、2024年にLensCulture Emerging Talent Awardsを受賞。2026年に写真集『Karyolysis』、『Cell metamorphose』（SOLITAIRE）を刊行。
Born in 1979, Oono works from Tokyo, publishing his own photobooks while exhibiting internationally. His series SEPARATE HIDDEN RULES, developed through close observation of living organisms, received the JAPAN PHOTO AWARD in 2016. His work appeared in SAMEPAPER photobooks in 2019 and 2020. Contrast A earned the PhEST Leica Prize in 2023 and the LensCulture Emerging Talent Award in 2024. In 2026, he published Karyolysis and Cell Metamorphose (SOLITAIRE).
